The Clean 15 and the Dirty Dozen!
Learn which produce to buy organic and which foods you can safely buy conventionally and save MONEY! We often hear form our clients that purchasing organic food is just too expensive. When deciding where to allocate your hard-earned dollars, it can be helpful to know which foods contain the most dangerous amounts of pesticides; you can then identify which foods are most important to buy organic. According to a study by the Environmental Working Group (EWG), individuals can reduce their pesticide exposure by 80% by avoiding the most contaminated fruits and vegetables. To help consumers out, the EWG compiles an annual list called "The Dirty Dozen," which highlights the top twelve most important fruits and vegetables to purchase organic due to their high pesticide content. The EWG also compiles "The Clean 15," - the foods lowest in pesticides and therefore safest to buy conventionally. We have put these two list together for you here, to use on your next shopping excursion!
